Short Courses:
Short Courses are available and it is the individual’s responsibility to investigate whether or not these short courses are accredited or in the process of being accredited.
- AISA Skills development and Training Programme (STP):
Following the 2007 AISA Skills audit report (report available on request), a four tier Aquaculture Skills Development and Training Programme (STP) was proposed which entails short course training, one year technical aquaculture training (on college level) and a four year graduate aquaculture degree (on univeristy level).
In 2008, AISA launched the STP which operates in a multi-organisational approach. On the short course level, AISA provides two short courses annually namely
(1) Responsible Aquaculture Technical skills (5 days) (- in collaboration with the WWF, University of Stellenbosch and the College for Sustainable Agriculture)
and
(2) Life skills & Basic Business skills (3 days) (- in collaboration with the Ethical Learning Institute)
